WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) announced the winners of the 2022 SEPA Utility Transformation Awards, which recognize the specific projects, programs, partners, and individuals driving the utility industry’s transformation to a modern, carbon-free energy future. Winners in five award categories will be recognized at RE+ taking place September 19-22, 2022 in Anaheim, CA.

Now in their fourteenth year, the awards celebrate innovation and collaboration by the utilities, industry partners, and individuals who are shaping the future of electricity.

The 2022 SEPA Utility Transformation Award Winners are:

  • Utility Transformation Program of the Year: Duke Energy – Energy Service Subscription
  • Utility Transformation Project of the Year: Southern California Edison (SCE) – EASE DER Interconnection Project
  • Utility Transformation Leader of the Year: Nadia El Mallakh – Area VP of Clean Transportation & Strategic Partnerships, Xcel Energy
  • Utility Transformation Partner of the Year: WeaveGrid
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award: Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power (LADWP) – Racial Equity Action Plan

“This year’s Utility Transformation Award winners showcase the unique innovations, bold leadership and groundbreaking projects and programs that are furthering progress to a carbon-free electricity sector,” said Julia Hamm, SEPA president and CEO. “SEPA is on a mission to accelerate this transformation, so by recognizing these trailblazers, we hope to proliferate solutions that others can replicate across our industry.”

Utility Transformation Partner of the Year

This award recognizes a non-utility product or service provider that, in partnership with one or more utilities, has demonstrated leadership to catalyze utility transformation and progress towards a modern, carbon-free energy future.

WeaveGrid
