For PGE's Smart Charging program, you may enroll with a qualified Tesla electric vehicle
PGE's Smart Charging program offers EV customers a simplified charging experience and cost savings.
Your participation helps PGE gain a better understanding of the impact of electric vehicle charging on the grid.
As an EV driver, you get the unique opportunity to earn free benefits, while getting access to insights that can help you understand your overall impact.
The PGE Smart Charging program is risk-free and you can opt out at any time throughout your program experience.
PGE's Smart Charging program optimizes your charging during the most cost-effective times of use.
Your charging will be prioritized for when it’s least expensive, also taking the grid into consideration to protect it from excessive stress during periods of high demand.
Your daily smart schedule is determined by your vehicle’s charging needs, your rate, and when electricity costs and energy demand are lowest and sustainable energy resources are more available.
All you need to do is set your target battery level and ready-by time. After that, simply plug in every day, and your car will be ready to go when you need it.
You have complete control over your participation, and can opt to receive text notifications about your upcoming schedule.
While it’s best to stick to your smart schedule as much as possible to maximize savings, you have the option to override your schedule if needed.
There are two Smart Charging Event seasons in the year: October to March and April to September. During these seasons, your charging will automatically shift outside of peak times, during times when energy use is high and sustainable energy sources are scarce.
During Smart Charging Events, your vehicle charging will pause and will start again once the event is over. You can opt out of any event via text message or directly from your WeaveGrid dashboard.
To earn rewards each season, the following participation criteria should be met:
- Charge your EVÂ at least 13 times
- Participate in at least 3 events
If you are on Time of Day pricing or Time of Use, your charge will be optimized outside of demand response events as well. This will help ensure your electricity bill is as low as possible.
After creating a WeaveGrid account, you will be prompted to sign into your EV account to establish a connection between your vehicle and WeaveGrid.
WeaveGrid then receives your vehicle data in order to provide the program experience and benefits.
This EV data includes information such as how much EV charging has occurred, when EV charging occurs, and whether EV charging occurred at home or away from home.
WeaveGrid is committed to securing users’ data. While we may share relevant EV data with your energy company in order to facilitate program participation, we do not share your EV or personal data with third parties.
We maintain stringent data security and privacy protection procedures to ensure no details about our users, or their charging and driving patterns, are misused or disclosed to unauthorized parties.
