San Francisco, CA – 11.13.2024 – WeaveGrid, a leading EV-grid integration software provider, today announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with ChargePoint, a leading provider of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), to support EV charging incentives for ChargePoint Home Flex customers in California. This expanded collaboration leverages WeaveGrid's software platform to support ChargePoint's expansion into two key California-based incentive programs: the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) EV Charge Manager program and ChargePerks California.

The PG&E EV Charge Manager program launched in October 2024 and transforms electric vehicles (EVs) into flexible grid assets through a targeted managed charging program. EV Charge Manager is focused on addressing the EV charging needs of three of the most EV-dense counties in the country: Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara Counties. WeaveGrid's DISCO algorithm aggregates and predicts EV charging loads at the distribution transformer level, orchestrates optimized charge schedules across target clusters of EVs, and lowers peak loads within the thresholds of constrained distribution assets to avoid service outages and costly repairs.

ChargePerks California is a statewide WeaveGrid program funded in part by the California Energy Commission (CEC) which helps California EV drivers save money on charging while supporting the state's clean energy future. ChargePerks California offers EV drivers a chance to earn up to $50 in rewards while contributing to a more resilient electric grid. Participants can also save on their monthly electric bills by charging at the lowest-cost, most efficient times for the electric grid.

By combining WeaveGrid's expertise in grid optimization with ChargePoint's extensive network of charging stations, the partnership aims to address the growing demand for electric vehicles while ensuring grid stability and reliability. WeaveGrid's intelligent software is fully integrated with ChargePoint’s Home Flex chargers, enabling streamlined participation in utility-managed charging incentive programs, minimizing the impact on peak electricity demand and optimizing energy usage.

"We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with ChargePoint by launching together into two important California-based programs," said Yakov Berenshteyn, Senior Director of Automotive and Charging Partnerships at WeaveGrid. "ChargePoint’s commitment to data quality and continuous innovation have allowed us to leverage their chargers for our most sophisticated optimization algorithms, making any EV an asset for the electric grid.”

"ChargePoint is committed to enabling a superior charging experience wherever drivers need to charge,” said David Peterson, Senior Director, Strategy and Partnerships, North America at ChargePoint. "Together with WeaveGrid, we can deliver a seamless and reliable EV charging experience for drivers across the country in addition to our recent program launches in California."

ChargePoint customers are also able to participate in WeaveGrid programs with Alabama Power, Baltimore Gas & Electric, DTE, Georgia Power, LUMA Puerto Rico, Salt River Project, Union Power, and Wake Electric.
